These are fed a NON-medicated soy-free custom feed. Our feed is a custom blend and does NOT contain Roxarsone, an arsenic-based feed additive.
Our feeder chicks are a variety of breeds - we don't use CornishX or other heavy-breasted hybrids, preferring instead to make use of males of egg-laying breeds which otherwise enter the waste stream. This also gives your pets a more natural meat-to-bone ratio, and slower growth means more nutrition per ounce!
Priced per bag of 5. Also available priced in batches of 100, in other age ranges, and as Certified Organic.
Processing is not available on feeder chicks. These will arrive WHOLE, with feathers, feet, head, and all. Small chicks are not fully feathered, and should not pose a problem with mess (your mileage may vary).
Two-week-old chicks will weigh between 2.5 and 3.5 ounces each.
Chicks are humanely euthanized with CO2 (carbon dioxide gas) and frozen whole.
